The town was also known as the El-Dorado of the East back in the 1880s, and it all began in the Sungai Lembing Mines. A tram ride takes you into a well-preserved mine, dotted by mining equipment, trams, exhibits, and mannequins that tell a story or two about the gold rush era in Sungai Lembing.
